Who we are

Your Business Today is operated by Your Business Today Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17329446, with its registered office at 8 Eastleigh Close, Sutton, England, SM2 6QY (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at consulting@yourbusiness.today.

We are a consultancy. These terms cover this website and the client portal we run on it. The consultancy work itself — what we do for your business, over what period, for what fee — is governed by the written agreement we sign with you, and these terms sit underneath it.

Who this is for

This is not a product anybody can sign up to. There is no public registration. Accounts exist for the businesses we work with, for the people those businesses name as contacts, and for our own staff. We create each one, and the person we create it for is invited by email to set a password.

If you are using the portal on behalf of a business, you confirm you have that business’s authority to do so. Using an account we have given you means you accept these terms.

Your written agreement comes first

Every engagement is set out in writing before it starts: the scope, what we deliver, the fees, the notice either side gives. If anything in these terms disagrees with your written agreement, your written agreement wins for that engagement.

An enquiry sent through the contact page is not a contract, and neither is a conversation about what we might do. It records you in our client register so that we can reply, and nothing more.

Fees

Fees are the ones named in your written agreement and are invoiced under it. This site takes no card payments and sells nothing directly; nothing you do in the portal commits you to a cost that the agreement has not already set out.

Your account

Your account is yours alone. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has used it. You are responsible for what happens under your account, you must be at least 18, and the details you give us must be accurate.

Tell us when somebody at your business should no longer have access. We will close their account, but until you tell us we have no way of knowing they have left.

The client portal

If we work for your business, we open the portal to the people you name. There they can see the projects we run for you, the goals and tasks inside them, and every request they have raised. A request is raised in plain English, discussed on its own thread, and becomes work only when we accept it. What that acceptance commits us to is set by your written agreement.

You can attach files to a request when they are part of the ask. Attach only what the work needs, and nothing you are not entitled to share with us.

What we build for you

When we build something for your business, it is built for you and it is yours. Once the fees for that work are paid, you own what we deliver and the written record of how your business works that we produce alongside it. We keep the right to reuse the general know-how, techniques and non-specific components behind it, which is what lets us begin the next engagement from something rather than nothing.

You are not locked in. You can take a copy of what we hold for you and end the engagement on the notice your agreement sets out. Where we run what we built for you, we run it as a managed service under that agreement: we contract for the infrastructure and platform services underneath it in our own name, and what you buy from us is the running service itself, not a licence to, or a resale of, anything from the suppliers behind it. We keep it running through a reasonable handover period and give you what you need to move it elsewhere, on terms agreed at the time.

Confidentiality

What we learn about your business during an engagement is confidential. We do not disclose it outside the people working on it, and we will not name you as a client, publish a case study, or describe the work publicly without your agreement in writing. The same obligation runs the other way for what we show you about how we work.

Connecting your own tools

You can connect Claude, or another tool that speaks the same protocol, to your portal — either with a token you mint in your account or by authorising an application. That connection can do what you can do, so a token is a secret: keep it safe, mint one per tool, and revoke anything you no longer use.

You are responsible for what a connected tool does with your access, and for reading what an application asks for before you authorise it. We may revoke a token or an authorisation that is being misused.

AI-generated output

Parts of the portal are generated by AI: summaries, drafts, and replies to what you ask it. AI output can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, and none of it is legal, financial, tax or other professional advice. Check anything important before you act on it. Advice you can rely on comes from us in writing, under your agreement.

Acceptable use

When using the portal you must not:

  • upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes somebody else’s rights;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service;
  • use it to generate unlawful or harmful material;
  • pass a token or an authorisation to somebody who should not have your access;
  • give access to your business’s portal to anybody outside the people you have named to us.

Ending access

An engagement ends on the terms of your written agreement. When it does, we close the portal accounts we opened for your business after the handover period that agreement provides for, and you keep what you have taken a copy of.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will say so first and give you the chance to put it right. Records we have to keep by law are kept for as long as the law requires.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Beyond that, liability for the consultancy work itself is governed by your written agreement. For the portal and this website, our liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or loss caused by acting on AI-generated output without checking it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the way we work changes. If a change is material we will tell the people whose accounts it affects before it takes effect. Continuing to use the portal after that means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
